Rich previews
Markdown previews support tables, task lists, links, mathematics, and syntax-highlighted code. Mermaid diagrams work as standalone files or inside Markdown code fences. When a document is open in GlyphGlance, select the enlarge button below a Mermaid diagram to show it in a separate display-sized window; press Escape to close it. Finder Quick Look intentionally omits these app-only diagram controls.
Select Share beside a diagram's enlarge button to share just that diagram through the macOS Share sheet. GlyphGlance offers SVG and PDF as two representations of one item. The receiving app chooses a supported representation; some services simply take the first one, so the choice depends on the destination. SVG preserves vector shapes and text, while PDF provides a single page sized to the diagram, without page-break clipping. Shared diagrams use a light background suitable for other apps, and do not include the surrounding document or source disclosure. The document toolbar's Share button still shares the original Markdown file.
Select Copy beside Share to put the same diagram on the clipboard, then press Command–V in another app. One clipboard item offers SVG and PDF first, followed by PNG and TIFF image fallbacks for clipboard previews and apps that cannot paste vectors. The receiving app chooses a format it supports and may choose a bitmap even when vectors are available. The Copy icon briefly becomes a checkmark when copying succeeds. The PDF page fits the diagram with a small white border, just like Share. No surrounding Markdown text is copied; text-only fields cannot paste these image representations. Share remains SVG/PDF-only.
GlyphGlance supplies a PNG diagram preview and its app icon as Share-sheet metadata. macOS decides how to display them; the compact sheet may show only the icon and title. These are not extra attachments: the shared item still offers just SVG and PDF, with the same diagram title and filename.
Use the Markdown Variant menu in the toolbar when a document needs a specific Markdown dialect. Leave it on Automatic for normal use.
If a Mermaid diagram contains a typo
GlyphGlance can recover from an unescaped semicolon in a sequence-diagram message or note. It checks the adjustment before showing the diagram and displays a short notice below it. Expand Description and source below the diagram to see the unchanged text. Your file is never modified.
Other errors, such as a missing branch or closing statement, still need to be corrected in the source document. GlyphGlance shows the original error instead of guessing what the diagram should mean.
